Backhaul
Starlink’s Backhaul offering consists of two products – our Priority service plans and our mobile backhaul solution. Both products utilize the existing satellite, Points of Presence, and User Terminal footprint of the Starlink infrastructure to connect cell towers to your core mobile network over our native Layer 3 network. Starlink delivers lightning fast 2G/4G connectivity to rural and remote locations and provides customers a terrestrial quality cell experience with the freedom and flexibility of a satellite backhauled cell tower.
Priority service provides internet access for customers who do not require private network interconnects and is ideal for Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISPs), Community WiFi, Cell-on-wheels (CoWs), and ultra-rural customers in the developing world. Customers may select any of our existing priority and mobility plans as well as an unlimited priority data, fixed-cost, Maximum Information Rate plan at speeds of 25 Mbps and 200 Mbps.
The Starlink Mobile backhaul solution provides Layer 3 IP connectivity and private peering between the tower and core network. All traffic from the cell tower will be routed over this Layer 3 network directly to the core network of the mobile operator. In no case will any of this traffic go over the internet
Government
Starlink for Government use is a product offering we call Starshield. Starshield utilizes the existing satellite, Points of Presence, and User Terminal footprint of Starlink infrastructure, but augmented to specifically serve Government and diplomatic use cases. Additional capabilities of Starshield include Government-tier network priority, advanced account management and reporting capabilities, service tiers with committed information rates, and global operation with non-commercial host nation approval (HNA) support.

Starshield continues to offer flexible, reliable connectivity to service members and administrators within the US Government with even the most demanding data requirements.
Notably, in addition to supporting many efforts of the US Government, Starlink/Starshield has been an invaluable tool for emergency response efforts during or after wildfires, flooding, hurricanes, volcanic eruptions, and war.
Starshield has demonstrated consistent usability from government offices and mobile vehicles to airplanes, boats, and under various austere conditions.
Residential
Starlink was created for rural access to internet across the globe. Whether customers live in the Artic Circle or Tierra del Fuego, Starlink internet access is available. Starlink provides high-speed, low-latency internet in previously unreachable and underserved locations made possible by the world’s largest constellation of highly advanced satellites operating in low Earth orbit.
Connect to the internet within minutes of opening the box with easy self-installation via the Starlink app. The Starlink app allows users to customize settings, receive updates, access support, and see real time performance data. Without the need for a third party installation or support, users are empowered to set up at their speed. The freestanding design of the dish kickstand means users can take the dish out of the box, assemble it, and put it outside on the ground, ready to connect to Starlink satellites overhead.

With download speeds up to 100 Mbps, users enjoy streaming videos and playing games in high quality with minimal to no lag.
Business
With a higher gain antenna, additional throughput allocation, and better extreme weather performance, Starlink Business helps ensure bandwidth for critical operations 24/7. Starlink Business customers can expect speeds of up to 350 Mbps and latency of 20-40ms, enabling high throughput connectivity for offices of up to 20 users, storefronts, and demanding workloads across the globe.
Starlink Business Kits arrive with everything you need to get online, including the Starlink user terminal, power supply with wall mount, WiFi router, cables, and base.
Enterprise-level customers at the Business and Government tiers also enjoy the benefit of managing unlimited Starlink kits from a single, centralized account. Business accounts also benefit from round the clock prioritized support and a publicly routable IPv4 address.
With Starlink, there are no long-term contracts and no exclusivity requirements. Bandwidth leasing is a concern of the past; with Starlink, data performance of high- need users is not sacrificed due to the ubiquitous availability to Starlink satellites at any given time.

Land-Mobile
Starlink also offers connectivity for users in motion. The same benefits of high-speed, low-latency data come in a portable format with the ability to connect regionally or globally. Land-mobile use is defined in two cases – Standard Starlink for portable use in truly rural fixed-site destinations and Flat High Performance Starlink, optimized for vehicle integration and use in motion.
For users in remote locations who don’t require hardware on their vehicles, the Standard Starlink system is designed for portable use. Recently, users in Antarctica and the Amazon Rainforest have demonstrated stellar connectivity where previously unavailable, using the Standard Starlink hardware. Whether working remotely, camping, or visiting an outpost, Starlink provides internet on demand with a sleek, minimal dish measuring 11.4” x 9.8”, comparable in size to a standard 14” laptop.
Mobile connection is enabled by the new Flat High Performance Starlink with a wide field of view and enhanced GPS capabilities. The hardware is designed for a more permanent installation on a vehicle and is resilient in harsh environments. Flat High Performance Starlinks measure 22.4” x 14.7” and offer a sleek side profile to minimize exposure while on the go. Weighing only 15.2 lbs and able to withstand -22 °F to +122°F and up to 174+ mph winds, Starlink for mobile is a rugged and simple alternative to heavy, bulky, and less-reliable satellite hardware.
Maritime
Global maritime coverage provides up to 220 Mbps download while at sea. Now a global offering, Starlink Maritime provides connectivity to the vast majority of Earth’s oceans and seas. As with other Starlink offerings, Starlink Maritime hardware bears a small footprint, demands minimal above deck space, and comes with an easy-to- install mount.
Secure fleet management and remote monitoring is made possible through a single user portal. Starlink implements end-to-end encryption to protect your data and confidentiality of user traffic.
Starlink’s high performance and ability to withstand -22 °F to +122°F and up to 174+ mph winds allow for boats at any latitude and environment to maintain connectivity within fleets and to land.
Maritime applications of Starlink are broad-reaching from US naval fleets and cruise lines to search and rescue and leisure boaters – Starlink is a scalable, convenient satellite internet application.
Aviation
Revolutionizing in-flight connectivity, Starlink provides unparalleled WiFi service up to 350 Mbps to each plane, enabling all passengers to access streaming-capable internet at the same time. With latency as low as 20ms, passengers can engage in activities previously not functional in flight, including video calls, online gaming, virtual private networks, and other high data rate activities. Most competitive offerings provide 100 Mbps per plane, making Starlink a clear advancement in multi- user, high-rate connectivity in flight.
The Starlink Aero Terminal features an electronically steered phased array antenna, which enables new levels of reliability, redundance, and performance. The low-profile hardware secures to any fuselage with minimal drag.
A simplified design allows for install with minimal downtime and combines well with other routine maintenance checks. The kit includes an Aero Terminal, power supply, two wireless access points, and harnesses.
Inter-Satellite Links (ISL)
Every satellite since September 2021 has been deployed with a laser communication system to create a mesh network of satellite-to-satellite links. This enables data transmission in the vacuum of space and exceeds the capabilities of terrestrial networks for intercontinental data transmission, ultimately preventing data traffic bottlenecks. Inter-satellite data transmission is operating at 100 Gbps, with plans for higher speeds in the future.
Commercial and Government applications of this laser- only technology are already in use. From orbital rocket test flights from Texas to Hawaii to Polar research coverage, inter-satellite links demonstrate a breakthrough in rural coverage and connectivity.
Robust Satellite Network
Since the first Starlink launch in May of 2019, SpaceX has built a US-based world-leading manufacturing system that produces 50+ satellites and 30,000+ Starlink kits per week.
Now, in March of 2023, the Starlink satellite network is comprised of 3500+ satellites in low Earth orbit and has 42 additional Starlink launches manifested through December 2023. Each launch is capable of delivering up to 60 satellites to orbit. This means an ever-growing level of satellite resiliency and performance-enhancing technology available with every new launch.
As a global high-speed, low-latency broadband service, Starlink offers customers across all market segments up to 350 Mbps down and 50 Mbps up per user terminal. Most users experience latency around 30ms per data round trip.
